Autostart - System

If you need a program or script to run every time you boot up your computer...  and you need it to load up before your window manager (KDE/gnome), add your command(s) to the end of this file:

This file is a nice one to add to your Kate session.

For example, here is what I am running with my boot.local file:

cd /home/sgt-d/hproxy
perl &
perl &
hwinfo &

Just to be safe, always add an ampersand (&) to the end of each line.  I suspect that without the "&", the system might stop at each command until you hit CTRL+C.  It works with the & signs, so I'm leaving them in.  :p~

The hwinfo & line is only being executed because in openSUSE 10.3 Alpha 5, the OS refuses to recognize your ROM drives after a reboot...  you either have to run hwinfo as root one time, or you have to run the YaST Hardware Information utility.  After that the ROMs all work fine.
