Autostart - System

If you need a program or script to run every time you boot up your computer...  and you need it to load up before your window manager (KDE/gnome), add your command(s) to the end of this file:

/etc/init.d/boot.local

This file is a nice one to add to your Kate session.

For example, here is what I am running with my boot.local file:

cd /home/sgt-d/bin/hproxy
perl HoTTProxy.pl &
perl HoTTProxy_Admin.pl &

Just to be safe, always add an ampersand (&) to the end of each line.  I suspect that without the "&", the system might stop at each command until you hit Ctrl+C.  It works with the & signs, so I'm leaving them in.  :p~
