openSUSE 10.3 Beta 1 (32-Bit)

This site will attempt to help you with setting up openSUSE 10.3 Beta 1 32-Bit, getting past some rough spots during installation, and to help you install some very cool shit for your desktop.

This site assumes that you already have this version of openSUSE installed.  This site will not help with the actual installation process.  If you've never used linux before, I strongly recommend installing to a blank IDE hard drive, and to make sure that no other drives are plugged in during the installation.

I had minimal luck with 64-Bit versions (some packages require 32-bit libraries and fail to find the 32-bit equivalent libraries), so I am avoiding 64-Bit versions for the time being.

To be able to build packages mentioned on this site, you will first need to install developer packages in Linux, including GCC and C++, kernel-source and probably many more.  Visit this page for more information:  Software Packages.

8/15/07 - Site completely overhauled for openSUSE 10.3 Beta 1.

8/15/07 - Completely updated the Compiz Fusion and Beryl pages.

7/27/07 - Added BitTorrent 5.0.8, FLAC 1.2.0, Miro 0.9.8, Mumble 1.0.0, Opera 9.22-20070716.1 and Psi 0.11 RC2 to the files area.

If you want to install openSUSE in a software raid configuration, please study this page carefully.

My original site for openSUSE 10.3 Alpha 5 is still available but is now depricated.  Everything should work, but there will not be any more updates.
