Notice:  You can only run one voice communication program at a time in linux.

Voice communication in linux, pretty simple.

Before doing anything else, install libsigc++2, libsigc++2-32bit, and libsigc++2-devel.

Downloads

The RPM below would not install for me, so I have listed that tarball first.

skype_static-1.4.0.99.tar.bz2 (local) / skype_static-1.4.0.99.tar.bz2 (remote)

skype-1.4.0.99-suse.i586.rpm (local / skype-1.4.0.99-suse.i586.rpm (remote)

If the RPM installs for you, you should have minimal problems.

If not, the tarball isn't too terrible.  Skype is closed source, so this isn't something you will have to configure, make or install.  You will simply extract it, eg:

/home/sgt-d/bin/skype-1.4.0.99
